The Influence of Leader-Member Exchange, Intrinsic Motivation, and Work Engagement on Innovative Work Behavior

Abstract

At CV Kirana Mas Homes Yogyakarta, there are signs of low innovative work behavior among employees, as seen from the lack of internal motivation to complete tasks optimally. This study aims to analyze the influence of leader-member exchange, intrinsic motivation, and work engagement on innovative work behavior among employees at CV Kirana Mas Homes Yogyakarta. This study applies a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 81 employees using a saturated sample technique. Data analysis was performed using SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The results of this study reveal that leader-member exchange (LMX) has a positive but insignificant effect on innovative work behvaior (IWB). Intrinisic motivation has a positive and significant effect on innovative work behvaior. Work engagemnet has a positive and significant effect on innovative work behavior. Thus, this study shows that increasing intrinsic motivation and work engagement plays a major role in encouraging employee innovation.
