Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of the Kampus Mengajar policy in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills in target schools in Amuntai, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, and participating students. The findings reveal that the Kampus Mengajar program contributes through five main strategies: (1) library revitalization, (2) collaboration with literacy communities, (3) reading habit movement, (4) literacy and numeracy-based educational games, and (5) technology adaptation. These strategies were found to support student engagement, encourage reading interest, and improve the learning environment in the target schools. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative analysis of program sustainability, particularly how literacy practices are maintained beyond program implementation. The study also highlights structural challenges, including unequal program distribution and limited collaboration resources
