Nilai Religi pada Tari Sintren sebagai Media Dakwah di Keraton Kacirebonan

Along with the arrival of Islam into Cirebon, Sintren dance became one of the traditional arts that experienced a process of cultural acculturation, so that Islamic elements began to be included in the performance and became a medium for Islamic propagation. This study aims to identify and analyze the religious value of Sintren dance in Kacirebonan Palace and how this art is used as a means of da'wah. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach. Data were obtained through direct observation, interviews with sources, and documentation studies from various related sources. The results showed that every element in Sintren dance, such as movements, musical accompaniment, costumes, and properties, contains religious meanings and values that reflect Islamic teachings. In addition, the structure of the Sintren dance performance also reflects the concept of the human spiritual journey, starting from the stage of self-purification, life trials, to achieving closeness to God. Sintren dance is not only entertainment, but also an effective means of moral and spiritual education in conveying Islamic messages to the public in a subtle and effective manner. In addition, Sintren dance in Kacirebonan Palace also has a dual role, namely as a cultural heritage that must be preserved and as a medium for Islamic preaching that can be adapted to the times.
